There are many threads about many topics, and judging by the name of this thread coming in here to talk about the quality of music is about as dumb as coming in to talk about his money.

No one is selling what they used to, but the fact is that damn near everyone is selling more than Curtis, so now he wants to talk about "charts don't matter". Everyone is competing on a lower scale and todays Gold is yesterdays Platinum, but 50 can barely break 100k, so he can't compete with Jeezy or even French Montana. That's all facts, and logical thinking.

That "nobody is selling" comment is bullshyt, artists are going platinum today, some even multi-platinum, 50 just isn't on their level anymore. Save the money talk for another thread, this whole topic came up because of what 50 himself said.

Albums are only promotional tools. Getting people to talk about you is all that matters. You will still book show, will still be able to leverage your name for investments and still grab some endorsements. When you have aps like rdio, beats, spotify, there is no reason to buy an album.
