I c/s OP from what I have observed on the outside looking in.
Some of you got it twisted, we do not mean any rap dude who did time or random acts of violence. If the criteria was that then Max B would be the realest rapper.
No, those are just dumb coked out nikkas. Most of their ''cred'' came AFTER they were famous or at least in the industry. 50 was actually about that life before rap and hasn't even been arrested since fame.
I can't respect someone like C-Murder being damn near 40 shooting up clubs over dumb shyt. But I do respect the hell out of 50 for being smart while being a straight savage when necessary.

50 definitly seem to be one of the more intelligent authentic nikkas in rap,and most these mainstream rap nikkas consider him to be a problem bcuz they know he will confront them,will spend plenty of money tryna expose people,has goons regardless of how rich he is...even if u feel its for publicity,I think he genuinley don't play disrespect.

The most trouble this nikka been in has been for shyt having to do with his BM's...you talking about beans and that nikkas in jail.
That's why he gets credit, because he's an actual "gangster" in the sense of running some shyt, not just being a flunky or a hot headed jail bird.
If I remember correctly Prodigy said that gun charge he ate recently was basically because the feds planted a weapon in his car to try and get him to give up info about murders that were being tied to 50/g-unit.
