Beans said when he was locked up, he met a cat who turned out to be 50's uncle. 50 and Beans chopped it up, and 50 offered Beans a deal after he got out of jail, but he was still signed to Def Jam. Beans said he talked to Jay, and tried to get a release from Def Jam, but Jay talked him out of it. I personally think when the Roc split, Beans should've just stayed with Jay. The crazy thing about the whole split was that Jay offered Dame and Biggs the Roc in return for the masters to Reasonable Doubt, but Dame and Biggs both refused Jay's offer.

Jay offered them the right to use the roc-a-fella name in exchange for their 2/3rds ownership of the RD masters...and I wouldn't have agreed to that either...they weren't gonna get any additional artists or assets or anything...only difference would be that they could've called that Dame Dash Music Group Roc-a-Fella instead....Dame was blackballed after the Jay split for playing bad cop all those years...so it's not like a label name would've made a difference...
