Maybe he made that song because the narrative of Jay not believing in him and just taking credit isn’t true :gladbron:

Listen to Dame fukking Dash, brehs

Biggs , Jay Z and Kanye himself have collaborated that narrative :unimpressed:

According to Kanye, despite relating to Dame more, he felt he had more to learn from Jay Z, specifically his ability to be personable.

“The problem was with Dame his truth was more accurate and more closer to what mine was, but his technique was harsh for me as a young kid and stuff,” he said. “I felt like a little bit more pressure. And Jay Z was a nice guy. And also I felt like I had that truth that Dame has in him. We the same. Me and Cam, me and Dame, we the same. But I wanted to learn this technique that Jay got of actually being likable…So, Jay Z know how to move in a room full of vultures. You know what I’m saying? As his little brother, I needed to learn that technique because I got something that God want me to give the world.”

Says Jay-Z: “We all grew up street guys who had to do whatever we had to do to get by. Then there’s Kanye, who to my knowledge has never hustled a day in his life. I didn’t see how it could work.”

Kanye snaked Dame, wound up being good business move though since he a billionaire now
JayZ never believed in Kanye, Dame did. Dame essentially signed him as an artist and allowed him to work on his album as a rapper. Jay got all the credit cause it was officially released under him on Def Jam :yeshrug:
The fact Kanye snaked Dame then made a whole song dikkeating Jay as his "brother" :scust:
Jay was introduced to him as a producer. And supported him as a producer and even let him rap on his first big track on bp2.

Dame didn’t believe he was gonna be a good artist either. Just wanted to load his songs up with cam and beans features.

Dame encouraged him to rap. just blaze has said this as well. Biggs in the DJ Vlad interview explains how they pushed his first album AND tried to release his pastel label. Jay had no involvement in none of that (according to Biggs who works at Roc Nation under Jay now)
Just accept that Dame ain't lying. The fact that jay and kanye snaked him is ok he IS an a$$hole :yeshrug:

This is still one of the biggest lies, first of all the time period was like 6 months before Jay believed in Kanye on Roc. He didn't believe it would suit him cause he wasn't a street dude and they had 20 artists that Dame signed waiting for releases, but that all changed when jay was getting fed up with the roc and Kanye started showing great music.

Second Dame signed everybody on the Roc, Kanye was signed somewhere in between Unkasa and Victoria Beckham, he wasn't signed like Dame believed he would be a star or presented that way. Third Dame was the chief of staff, he handled all those type of things cause he controlled Gee Roberson, Hiphop, Lenny S and those guys. One of which was Kanye's manger riding for him, all of those guys are also Jay's guys, still.

Everything I heard from this book so far makes it seem like 50 is completely obsessed with artists under him becoming as big as him

You achieved that with Game, 50 :lolbron:

from 2004 to early 2005, Game, Banks, & Buck all went double platinum on their debuts. Then 50 kicks Game out and goes and creates more beefs within the industry. All of 50’s beefs contributed to G-Unit becoming a very disliked entity by fans and artists alike and made it hard for the guys under him to work with other big names in the industry.

If anything stopped then from going on to be Superstars it was that, not this revisionist history that 50 is peddling.

I'm not a fan of 50 but he's always expected G-Unit (despite how unlikely it might be) to become major stars in their own right.

He's consistent as far as that....I remember they were doing an interview and he called them out for just lounging around his mansion all day.

Nah, it's true and I think Dame is a crazy a$$hole that is reaping what he sowed today.

I still remember that interview Kanye did after he chose Jay and the interviewer asked him if he felt like he betrayed Dame since he's the only one on the label who believed in him enough and he got all quiet and shook and said "yes"...

I'm sure someone can find it and post it up.
