50 said it in an interview that music was not the lane anymore money wise and that he had already planned on leaving it

not even that alone, but if you factor in The Game ruining G-unit and all the other fukkery ... the writing was on the wall that it wasnt a lane to focus on
similar to BIG, when you make it to the top anyway... people are gonna hate you. I dont believe the diss songs from everyone hurt his music career or ended it. It was just that the writing was on the wall and it was time to bow out because it would have been a hassle to make money and continue to move in a leadership role. You would be focusing way too much energy on menial shyt that isnt a big time move. People voted Kanye over 50... everyone was dissing him. The value and streaming of music was in the dumps... its not worth the effort when you've already proved your point.

people also forget all the ghostwriting he did, the classic gunit radio tapes... which rival some peoples discography alone, his own run of tapes in general, movie, movie soundtrack and features.

I didnt take anything he said to be far off either... besides maybe Banks has the look to be a star (no homo) He was pretty spot on about Biggie, BIG would have easily had one of the biggest social media pages and he had connections all over the place. He was extremely funny and had a good personality. In the other thread, people said Puffy was more iconic than Jayz....so how can you argue that Biggie wouldnt be smashing the internet, just from being linked to Puff?

And I wholeheartedly disagree about the coli 2pac take. Even if his music slowed up (which it wouldnt have) his movies werent gonna take precedent over his music. His message and roots are still heard today and he's still considered top rapper if not top 5-10 to most people. Movies wouldnt make that any more or less true. Ice Cube and 2pac are way too different to compare realistically. 2pac would probably be on Law and Order with Ice-T. It would be like saying Muhammad Ali isnt known for his boxing anymore because his activism and politics overshadowed it.... its simply not true. Plus think of how much easier it is to record music now and send shyt back and forth. Even though 2pac was all over the place all the time, he would have EVEN MORE time to get shyt done with technology the way it is.

Post about 2pac not becoming a huge movie star is dumb af too. All you have to do is look at the connections. Alot of goalposts people rest their hats on dont even matter. Pac getting shot the first time wouldnt have changed any of this, if anything he lost connections because of it. Outside of networking in general, having money and outreach determines what you can and cant do. 2pac had both coasts locked up and multiple connections throughout the industry. From Jim Carey, to Quincy Jones daughter, to John Singleton, Maya Angelou the list goes on forever.

Fr Idk what they talking bout but I VIVIDLY remember 50 losing fans musically from 05 to 09 more and more every year because of a downhill combination of many things:

1 Massacre was good but it wasnt up 2 par for being the sequel 2 GRODT

2 Dissed everyone in NY between 05 to 07 so he couldnt do any features with them

3 LOST ALL THEM SAME BEEFS either from a lack of interest and lazines his damn self or he was just outclassed. Literally Jada, Nas, Fat Joe, Shyne, and Cam ALL ROASTED this man in that little time frame. Jay was subbing him to DEATH too

4 Kicks GAME out and Game goes on a PSYCHOTIC rampage against g-unit for years, had dusty dudes trading in the brasiere tops for the fukking g-uNOT oversized tees

5 drops Curtis which was undeniably MID and loses to Kanye, the culture IMMEDIATELY shifted to both Wayne and Kanye over night while also having artist like TI and Jeezy coming out going crazy in the swap meets/flea markets of the world

6 Ross comes in HOT around 09 with Deeper Than Rap his 3rd album, tension starts, ROZAY goes on to take a piss on Curlys corpse and violate his whole team even if Gunplay got tossed like a roach clip in a ashtray. 50 drops that BISD which was ehhh but it wasnt anything mindblowing.

You cant be the bully of rap music and lose 6+ rap beefs on top of putting out trash to "it was aight" level music. Oh and I forgot he was feeling himself so much he told Jimmy Iovine to suck his dikk hes from Southside and said fukk Dre around that time too :dead: AND he was a bad leader to his crew, wanted to turn them all into mini 50s instead of playing to their individual strengths

He literally has no one to blame but himself for his music not panning out they way it should have, I dont know if he just didnt wanna waste his pen or maybe the 50 is the future/Gods Plan/No mercy 50 was a fluke :manny:

I knew it was over when Game dropped the "One Blood" Remix. G Unit at the time was beefing with everyone in NY as well as the south. Eminem went to rehab towards the end of 06 and no one was there for Curtis.

Out of all the G-unit members Banks had the most potential. He had the best lyrical prowess. Listen to those early 2000's G-unit mixtapes

Banks isn't really a spotlight person like Fif, he's more of a lowkey chill dude.

Fif always been on Banks case saying he's lazy, but which is somewhat true. Despite the criticism from his boss, Banks never been trash even with the voice change.
Bro what happened to his voice maybe it was because I was young when banks came out but I haven’t really heard any change in his voice

50 just doesnt understand others perspectives.

If Lloyd is laidback/introverted you cant just say "be different" to become a star. You cant just flip your mental & how you are in a snap.
50 knew that and gave Banks options, that’s on Banks. I’m a huge Banks stan but fif right on this
