i think it's because he said his last Relapse album was weak back in 2010 with his Not Afraid song. i notice after that we haven't got any Dr. Dre production in any of Eminem's newest albums.

Then he said the opposite on The Reunion.
The fact that it was his lowest selling album up to that point and that it came from a dark place is why I think he has mixed feelings about it. Redman hates DIAD for some of the same reasons though It's my favorite Redman album which Relapse was definitely influenced by.

he sold like 5 Million with Relapse, that was pretty good compared to what other rappers were selling at the time. Relapse 2 could've been like this and i would've been happy with it.

This isn't news. It's been known Eminem delayed and then cancelled Relapse 2 because fans and critics didn't like the first one.
But I find it ironic how a guy who built his legacy off of not giving a fukk and saying whatever he wanted regardless of what people thought is now hyper-sensitive when it comes to how everyone receives his work. The only thing I hope is that the reception towards Revival causes him to switch up the style on his next album and ditch the pop tracks, but who knows?

That’s how you know Eminem has been super trash for damn near a decade when fukking Relapse gets called a classic.CLASSIC?
I’ve always been confused as to why Em thinks Relapse is so bad. It’s one of his best albums.
