I was wondering... Cause most rappers ain't touring at all. So to drop a mixtape is basically just to hope a song catches the right ears and blows up?

I was talking with a producer he told me how one of those mixtape sites paid Rich Homie Quan 30k and Datpiff got mad. That's why you see other mixtape sites than Datpiff debuting mixtapes from popular artists.

Rappers also tour off them too. Nipsey Hussles never released an official studio album but has been touring off mixtapes for years

eh...its got a few decent songs, but certainly nothing i'll be listening to past next week to be honest.

at the very least the fans that are still riding for him can see he put some effort in with this one.

50 balanced the tape well between this modern post-trap sound with some more boom-bap-ish ny feel tracks... pretty cool...

And this kid Post Malone was really dope on that record, wasnt expecting it from that dude...
