He was never going to be Jay/Nas level where his drive for the art was going to be his foundation. This nikka learned how to rap and put together dope lil jingles out of necessity. It was either that or die in the streets...once he got his necessities taken care he wasn't just gonna switch gears and rap because he's in love with it. I'm not saying he's not Hip Hop or doesn't love Hip Hop but Jay Z is full of shyt with that "i'm a hustla, not a rapper" shyt. That should have been 50's slogan.

Yeah Fif was never a good rapper he was just different from a ny stand point but his nikka was, thats one of the biggest reason he didnt last.

We have rapper/r&b singers that made big comebacks. Even when fif was out of style he had nikkas that never blew up, he couldve made them take over...just like hot boys\juvie later on lil wayne blew (from his grind) later on drake& nicki or better yet kanye


If Ross didnt make good music he would been done because fif had the whole rap fan base even if he was out of style. Ross even said fif music catalog couldn't be destroyed by one diss songs so the only thing you can is be successful at what you do. Release music
