This has been known, and done, in the industry since the late 90's. Why do you think every rapper that has came out since then has a nice chain, and a nice watch? It's the hip hop kit. When rappers, and r&b artists, used to be on mtv cribs, most of the time the house was rented. It was because fans wouldn't respect the artist if they were just regular, and living in an apartment. It was the FANS who help created what we see now:yeshrug:
No. Fans didn't create shyt, the artist did. The artist created all the hyperbole bullshyt that's wrong with hip hop, not fans.

Nah, it was the fans. I remember slowly seeing who the fans gravitated to, and what they would say. After a while, artist just started following the fans, and shyt is how it is now.

Look at all this who is real, and who isn't, stuff came from. That came before the "how much money he has" came about. It was all about who was a real gangster. Fans took the shyt too far. Now, rap all over the world is considered some thug shyt, even though it didn't begin like that. It all started in the 90's.

Fans can't gravitate to whats not presented to them, therefore it was the artists.

Yeah his fans are poor so him stunting with fake money is supposed to make them feel better somehow?
Disrespectful to G-Unit stans

So the nikkas that buy his music are broke boyz??? :dahell:[/QUOTE
Yes. How many rap songs are on the radio right now that don't have the word "Money" in it? Besides Cole and Kendrick and maybe Drake, the rest of these nikkas talk about nothing but money.

this is career suicide, nobody in the history of hip hop has had some lawyer talk for a rapper saying his fans are broke. his fans should be dissapointed for insulting their intellegence. also shame on him disrespecting fans of rap like that too :martin:
This is career suicide. But I also thought Ross being exposed as a former C.O would be the end of his chapter.

It was only a few artist like that, though. I do think the labels pushed those artist more, but the fans would say certain things that it was no doubt that they played a big part as to what the artist rapped about. Jay-Z hit on it in the "fade to black" movie. I realize now that I'm older, most people in this world can't accept the problems they created, and just blame other people. It's no different with entertainment. Look how parents are complaining about how things are in music, yet they allowed things to get like this, and most of them celebrated, promoted, and brought, the music that laid the pave for the music now. The problem is they won't admit it, so nothing changes. The people now are going to be doing the same thing when they have kids. This world is fukked up. It is what it is:yeshrug:

We can agree to disagree.

The only episode of mtv cribs that anyone remembers is the one with redman :umad:

Naw but for real I do see your point.

we all seen how 50 behaved over the years so him having to file for bankruptcy even if it was the right move that would still eat away at him.
mix in his fans being in disbelief and 50's ego add in the fake money and here we are with these sort of statements (even if it has some merit)

Not farfetched.. just look at the typical stans on here.. its become a culture of "my fav rapper gettin money off this and that"

yup...and it can affect every type of rapper and their fans..not just the 50, Jay, Puffy fans.

you had the Nas fans giddy he might be one day if the investments go right be a billionaire, to how much trap rappers can get for a show in certain places, guys like E-40 and Cam'rons hustles in and away from rap, all the way down to a guy like Cole and how he moves.

its a small talking point for most but with 50 and his fans it was a major one.

I can't really blame the fans. I think it has to do with the business deciding that fantasy floss rap was gonna be the standard. People are sheep. They'll go along with whatever the label says.

Fans can't gravitate to whats not presented to them, therefore it was the artists.
