I read about this in the Source in 99, and I copped the In too Deep soundtrack, that featured three 50 songs, if I'm not mistaken, How To Rob among them.

I had also bought his debut EP in 2001, after he had been shot and dropped from Columbia.

50's run from 99-2005 was dope, and raw hip hop at it's best.

99-07... don't forget, "I Get Money".

50's had mad hits since then too, "Big Rich Town" is certified platinum so his talent is still there if he applies himself.:wow:

Lol @ thecoli not knowing how 50 got his buzz.

Have y’all ever even heard of “the mad rapper?” Lol
It's forgivable since it was 20 years ago almost.

At least they now know how much Gawdfather was a force back in the day.

If 50 would have waited a few months later and put Eminem in that rhyme....He would have never signed to Shady and would have never blown up to be as massive as he was.
It's funny cause now Em is the only person 50 would never say anything about. 50 been providing fukkery since the 90s:banderas:

Not as big as he was, yet Columbia had a major plan for 50 cent.

Signed to a major, got a co-sign and opened up for Nas, had the Trackmasters producing for him.

Shyt, his follow up and actual official single was 'Thug Love' featuring Destiny's Child.

I mean shyt, there was a bidding war for him.

Only reason why he signed to Em/Dre was because Em liked him a lot and he got a million dollar signing bonus.

Fif said all the other contracts where basically the same.

Would Em have liked him if 50 had a Em line in How To Rob? Thats the question. I say that cuz Em took off right after that song dropped. 50 was mentioning everybody and Em wasn't popular yet....Had it been a few months later I could see Em being in that song.

His debut woulda never saw 8 million if that line was in that song.

I remember hearing this shyt when it first came out back in 99. Hot 97 had it in their regular rotation way before August. Became a fan instantly. Thought it was entertaining as a 12 years old as myself was a shytstarter who didnt get along with a lot of kids my age and had a "fukk the world" attitude at the time due to certain things going on in my life at the time. I remember hearing it back in June because life on the line came out in July or shortly soon after. He had a video for that and they played it on video music box. shyt was hilarious. I don't remember the fallout from it but I was on the lookout for his album though which never dropped. I ended up getting the Madd rappers solo album where this was the final track. A few months later. I saw that ep shyt and was like :rudy::camby: disappeeared, got shot up, made a comeback and wasn't feeling his new shyt. Stretch Armstrong was playing his shyt heavy. I stopped checking for his music and wasn't a fan anymore. Happy to see that he was able to make a comeback after all that shyt and win though because could relate though I can't relate to that street life shyt he was on.

Im saying he wouldnt be as BIG, for the fact he was already signed to a major label and they where holding all stops for making Fif the next rap star on Columbia records.

50 was going to be a star, he just became a bigger star with the Jimmy/Dre/Em machine behind him.
