What’s Hilarious is thinking we can have a Scandinavian utopia without Scandinavian immigration policies :manny:

Face it the worker had no value in America as long as there’s a million or more people coming in with skills and desperation to replace him :manny:
Capitalism drives immigration. Folks like you seemingly don’t understand that. Capitalism requires bodies and cheap labor. You can do the math from there

The vast majority of the tech departments at a lot of big companies are Indian or other Asian. There are often more foreigners than domestic workers. They absolutely are competition and they often hire each other first

He's an immigrant himself I'm assuming.

They realizing the people produced at these schools are straight up imposters.

These are the clowns ruining it for everyone here. Those college names don't mean anything anymore.

You actually think that having a Degree from Harvard, Yale, Stanford don't mean anything anymore?....are you serious:mjtf:

It's been looking like that on college campuses too for STEM degrees.

I work in software engineering, sometimes on the hiring side and it really doesn't.

For the companies I've worked for (and they're names people would instantly recognize), it really doesn't. I'd say some people out there may have it top 10 CS school > local partnered schools > every other school and even then there's no clear cut favorite. Some people will say it's as simple as degree vs no degree and some yet say degree don't matter if they can code.

Maybe for some fields, it matters more (and varies per company), but general census for mine is school names don't really matter much vs personal performance (Leetcode, interview skills, etc.). shyt in our field, which is big money everywhere, we hire people without degrees vs people applying from M.I.T.

Those jobs are plentiful.

As an American born citizen... I've never felt that I lost out on a job
