Canceling
Call ATT and request to cancel your line. You have 3 days to get 100% service/act fee refund. After that it is prorated or the whims of ATT. Get confirmation of canceling and the employee's ID (their email address). You will get a bill in the mail for $0 and that is it.
Call any ATT number and say "cancel" and you will get transfered to retention/cancelation department. "I would like to cancel my new line. All I wanted was the phone which is why I ordered a month to month plan."
DO NOT USE the activated SIM if you want a 100% refund i.e. don't make a 30 minute call and expect them to not charge you.
Month-to-month = you get a bill = postpaid = you need credit
