Didn't look at everything he was saying from that perspective when I first watched it.. but I see what you and he are talking about (if he is in fact correct)
However, just because it didn't start as being it's own 'fighting style', with training, styles, etc.. doesn't necessarily mean that it couldn't turn into one which it seems to have done today.
The story of Karate is roughly very similar in it's origins being born of a desperate need to defend one's self, not as a "fighting style" to be taught and learned and ranked. Yet, today, it is in fact just that.

I remember that. That's when I KNEW it was over for Zab. When a niqqa resort to the 52 in the ring....it's over. But I wasn't surprised because it's a hood thing and it's embedded in some of our souls, it's natural for some of us NYC cats

As much as I admire the style, that's what makes the shyt suspect to any skeptic.. it shouldn't be hard to find a decent 52 vs boxer vid.
If it's as effective a style as they say, why not have a plethora of 52 vs boxing vids to prove the point

That is a big issue with it as well, the lineage is not well maintained nor was the knowledge passed down a great deal. According to some who've been in 52 for a while the TRUE "old heads" or "masters" of the style are all too old to remember because they've been out of it for so long, doing life in prison, or dead.
Anybody under like the age of 55-60 trying to claim to be a "master" in this is suspect..
