Yeah but walking around fearful that a random dude is gonna rape and attack you is not a plausible one. And those emails you are sent by your school are most likely in situations where sexual assault and rape are more likely to happen. Parties where people are intoxicated, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, thirsty dudes, women dressed in tight and revealing clothing (and no I'm not saying it's their fault).

Versus a random man raping a random woman out in public somewhere. The former is occurs way more, that's why you get those emails.
