The build up / negotiations have been interesting.
Is it Haney camp that refused to fight in Australia initially? Haney suggested as such in the first go round, but then accepted whatever offer was possible on the second set of negotiations?
Or is it that Hearn wanted a bigger chunk of the purse at stake and refused to negotiate for it to take place in Australia at all? Preferred Dubai or Vegas?
Perhaps all of the above?
One thing is for sure, Haney switching to Top Rank and the exclusion of Hearn/Matchroom in the second stage of negotiations was not expected.
Or maybe it's like some comments above have suggested that Kambosos is scared of Haney?
Maybe Kambosos is so scared of Haney that he chose not to fight a bum like 90% of recent world champions do after they win a title?
what made me side eye is Kambosos switched up his tune once he beat Teofimo...he went from im not undisputed yet until i face haney to saying he was undisputed and being led by dibella's bullshyt cuz dibella hasnt had a fighter be on top of a division in a while...they were going to freeze haney out and go after lomachenko until lomachenko stayed to fight in the war..so their hand was forced but they made sure to pull all the strings to make it more favorable since haney was a free agent and fulfilled his deal with Eddie..so devin having to take this messed up 3 fight deal to get what is a legacy fight and being the first undisputed lightweight champion since the great Sweet Pea is a sacrifice but i understand it
you still turned out to be right , regardless of the circumstances, because I said this fight was not going to happen after he beat Teo.
No way I would have taken the deal, although it increases Haney’s status if successful.
I keep hearing Kambosas was saying "Boy this" and "Boy that"...this cat and his fear has flipped him all the way out...lol
it def does and devin is only 23 so gambling and becoming an undisputed champion at a young age will definitely cause good separation between him and the cats in his generation and/or division
