Elio Motors has been around for a short time. Looks like they have a cash flow problem.
No one is buying their crap.
It's an interesting idea, a 3-wheeled vehicle that is light and fuel efficient like a motorcycle. And, it is a little more protective and drives like a car. There are those who don't want to ride a motorcycle or motor scooter because of the danger and being exposed to the elements.

I'd cop one and throw a Gixxer motor in that bytch
The Elio comes with a 3-cylinder 0.9 liter engine that puts out an estimated 55 HP and 55 ft.-lbs. of torque.
The GSX-R1000 engine puts out 162 HP and 79.9 ft.-lbs. of torque. You would run into the problems that happen when you increase engine output and nothing else. 1. transmission problems not being able to handle the increased power output, 2. axle problems not being able to handle the increased power output, 3. braking not being able to slow the vehicle down fast enough when traveling at higher than expected speeds, 4. tires not being able to hold traction with faster acceleration.
So, even if you found a used GSXR motor for cheap, you would either have to keep speeds down, or spend more on transmission, axles, wider wheels and tires and bigger brakes. You might as well just find a used GSXR if you want speed.
