For those of you working from home and still hosting/attending meetings, are those video conferences or voice only? Seems to me like the people "new" to teleworking are doing video conferences rather than just a normal phone conference + screen sharing. The 2 years I've been at this, I've only had one video conference.
Lotta people using video, but i disable my web cam always

Always videoconferencing for our daily team meetings and partially for ad hoc meetings. I think that for my company, we are relatively new to Microsoft Teams and so turning a call into a video chat with the click of a button is appealing to a lot of people. Also, given the current climate, your coworkers might be the only real faces you see for the entire day so it breaks up the monotony a bit.

Anybody using toggl to track their time? Good for if you have a lot of different things you are working on, or if you are a freelancer

With me, it started in trying to be more productive when working from home. I read an article that mentioned working for about an hour and then taking a 15 minute break, and I figured I'd give it a go.

I started looking for a timer and came across toggl. Now I am tracking how much time I spend doing separate tasks for my job as well as personal hobbies and online learning. I just started using it but it has potential for all the brehs looking to be more efficient.

Worked from home full time before all of this already and we always did WebEx videos where you have the option to turn off video but essentially you're not allowed to unless for good reason.

This is me, we use Webex as well. But my laptop is always closed..I have it on a docking station and hooked up to 2 monitors. They will never see my face..as long as we can hear each other, thats enough.

Any predictions on how the comming recession is going to affect the tech industry? What skills will be hot? What skills will be come irrelevant?
Anyone with VPN in their resume will be inundated by recruiters. I'm already Fielding calls from customers who barely had a working VPN solution. But now want help setting all this crap up. The cloud vendors in this space like Zscaler and Akamai are gonna be really busy.

Started reading a thread on people that lost their jobs on reddit:

I think that skillset is important in a time like this but it is very industry dependent as well. Unfortunately, I'm in an industry that is at risk right now and so It's slowly sinking in that I may not have the job security I thought I did. An hour ago I was contemplating all the ways I was going to frivolously spend my coronavirus check and now I am definitely throwing it into my savings account.
