In my experience, Corporate environments lack black people, while government spaces, fed, state and local, are full of them. I've done mainly contracting work and been the only black/woman in a few roles, but the fed and state contracts are where I worked with mostly black people. I've only experienced ALL black people in smaller businesses (child care & roller skating rink) and no lie it was the best. Paid the least, but most comfortable work environment.

Thanks for the answer. The most fun I had on a job was with when my team was just about all black at FedEx it didn't even fill like work. I could only imagine going to work in tech and its nothing but black people that aren't just working as security, reception, in the cafeteria or a custodian. Where am at now at this location not another brotha or sista in sight thats in SE,DBA,NetArch, its a few in Programming,

I love this thread/forum. TLR caps your salary desires at $30k max. They will have you thinking only Amazon jobs are available. I get sad talking about education and career there.

Two things Tempted to pull this brotha at my job and give him some game smh. Dude is heading on 6 years in I.T security still at an entry level position . Bro should have been left the company man. No cissp, no thing just a network plus and stuck in the same position. Like bro learn some firewall etc. When you in the game keep your foot on the pedal don't be stagnant.

I hate dealing with clients. We getting destroyed this week with the log4j vulnerability. Client called in all pissed off as if we do not have other shyt to do. I be so tempted to tell some of these people to fuk off. We are super short staffed. The worse is when they try to pull rank. I am the VP of Security, fuukk you man. Sheet left a bad taste in my mouth. Once I get my march bonus, I am out. I don't I will see the rest of that retention bonus.

Definitely need to move to another less stressful domain of cyber security.

I was on the phone last night with a brother and I kept trying to tell him to get his cert game up but he would rather do an 80K MBA at some well known school .

The MBA is great ut you won't see any return in your bottom line for years . He keeps fukking up in interviews and shyt instead of getting his certs up .

Either you want to play the corporate ladder game or you want to make Director and possibly VP level money by setting up your LLC .

I want to get google cloud and terraform down before I make any move but its just that I have been lazy. I am probably here until March 2021 so I can get my march bonus but after that, I am taking flight. Doubt I will last to see the rest of my retention bonus.

I dropped out of grad school lol. Maybe I may go the LLC route and see what I can do with that. I just dont want a whole bunch of stress and pressure.
