I need to go fast for these next 2-3 months. Honestly might just go monk mode for a bit. Each day is gonna either be a Monday or a Sunday
Just carve out the few weekends were I'll let up a bit (MDW, Juneteenth, July 4th, LDW)

My boss pulled me to the side and told me straight I'm not getting the promotion.
All make sense, he told me what I have to do for next time when the opportunity comes around. So I'm been locking in these past weeks at work; actually using my time widely, coding on the side and studying for a technologist cert I need to get since I didn't attend uni.

Nice advice but I would also keep track of this. I’ve been in similar situations and they were just all talk. But I guess it also depends on what you currently do and what the promotion would be.

Thank breh, it's all civil engineering related. The promotion would be from a traffic technician to technologist. My biggest handicap is my educational background is electrical and there are very few positions in my org for me that don't require a uni degree unless I backdoor it like how I did for this position.
But you're right, if they wanted to they could give it to me.
Yep, definitely going monk mode until July 4th. I want to nail this promotion by end of June and start plotting my next move.

I didn’t pass. The test kept going pass the 100 minimum, got to 125 then got to max of 150 questions and was CLOSE! But couldn’t pull it off. I got the Peace of Mind voucher and already signed up to take it again June 7th. I know what I need to focus on and I’m going to keep trying.
After this promotion I should be out of this team by early fall.

Recently hit three years at my current employer. This is typically when i crash out over promotions, career progression etc. I've never made it to year 4, it's been between years 3-4 every time.
I've had some success here and been promoted before but I'm not getting what I really deserve or maximizing my potential. Been putting big pressure on them internally but I wish the job market was better so i could truly go off.

I gotta get a new job. Because it's headquarters is in Australia, there's late ass meetings. Like I just got out of one at 8:20 PM.
It's also kind of disorganized here. I could see it getting better, but that would be months from now.
I like being on a team, my manager is cool, and things are pretty chill. But the pay is low and there's no advancement. I've been trying to get to the point where i can study during the day, but it hasn't happened yet. Stuff is always popping up and getting in the way.

How did you get an international gig
My bad, I wasn't clear. I'm still in NYC. But I have late meetings because my manager and a couple of teammates are in Australia. There's a local office that I go into once a week.
There's a brehette on the team on the west coast, but she's still a little new. So I'm looked to get stuff done

I got an interview as a GIS technician (entry) but declined, in another world it would be nice to work as one. It would probably even get me back into the tech field but we'll see what happens in the future.
