While watching that GlenGaryGlenRoss speech, I was the guy who was like "who the fukk are you talking to me like that?", but at the same time my friend was like "yeah, that's what my dad's like at work." I was insulted because I was thinking "I'm doing my job, and I been doing my job newjack, so step the fukk off and let me keep working......jackass." But now I can see why that speech mattered. It's kinda like that scene in the Departed where they're shaking down someone. "You don't have the money? fukk you, this is America. If you don't make money, you're an a$$hole."

I hated myself for a while, precisely because I didn't do anything. Been a lot more proactive since I quit smoking trees.

Get the vibe a lot of the shyt in this article applies to some of the folk on here judging by some of the defensive responses

This is nothing to base your life off of, but it certainly can put some things in your life in perspective. That speech in particular, something like that is more inclined to motivate me if I know that I'm not performing up to standard (although odds are I'd probably be dude giving the speech, or at least dude behind him ) and wouldn't take offense because I know to read between the lines. On the flipside, I know plenty of people that wouldn't stand for that shyt and would either curse dude out or be depressed about it. Not the approach I'd take but

For those that don't get it or are bothered by it....ask yourself why.

Because in my non-expert opinion, you don't hate yourself because you have low self-esteem, or because other people were mean to you. You hate yourself because you don't do anything. But the key is, I don't want you to focus on something great that you're going to make happen to you ("I'm going to find a girlfriend, I'm going to make lots of money ..."). I want you to purely focus on giving yourself a skill that would make you ever so slightly more interesting and valuable to other people.
