60 percent of babies aborted are from white women?

I don't trust sources because I personally know white women who had under the table abortions by licensed medical professionals. Those abortions aren't counted in statistics. I used to live in an area with an abortion clinic, grew up riding and driving by it, seeing protesters every weekend and all that. Of all the women I know, none of them went to that local clinic to get an abortion and a few of them went out of state for the procedure.

And this is dangerous militant think. Essentially you're sweeping black problems that need to be fixed under the rug because of the guise of the white boogie man.

I can tell y'all don't hang around whites. Most of em are average folks just trying to get by

All through this thread it’s been clear you want to cape for white folks and call out bw for getting too many abortions… that’s fine and all but do you genuinely care about why so many poor bw are aborting babies? If you do, what exactly do you want to happen to those bw? For them to stop aborting and keep babies they don’t want? To suggest that bw are heathens compared to ww, because poor bw are having more abortions?

And if you want to see the abortion rate decrease, what exactly do you propose should happen to address the issues many of these women face that leads them to abort in the first place? There’s obviously a reason this issue is worse in our community compared to ww. Just like more bw die during child birth compared to other women…

Issues are always bigger in oppressed and poor communities. And until our community and this society is a different place for black poor single mothers, I’m not sure how you want to address this issue so that it doesn’t appear that we’re sweeping this under the rug?

This is what I was saying earlier. There is a particular procedure you can have that is not referred to as abortion, but essentially is an abortion. That’s the shyt white women are taught to do.

When you don’t have money, you go to the clinic and get an abortion.

Propaganda is strong.

White women had always been the face of abortion. Black families, the girl would have the child and it would just be raised as her cousin. That's how it was in black communities.

Black women didn't have access to abortions so easy until the late 90s perhaps. While white women had been getting abortions since at least the 60s.

I never went for this abortion hysteria because I'm 40 years old....and I've met maybe one sister who had an abortion. Perhaps it's a small percentage of Black women who repeatedly get abortions? But from what I see majority Black women have the baby. There's a whole lot of child support going around lol.

I'm going by sources. Where are your sources that white women are having more abortions? Post them and prove me wrong and I'll gladly shut the fukk up. I want to be proven wrong.

Hispanics are about as poor and struggling like us and have way less abortions than Blacks and Whites. Why is that? So miss me with that 'poor' excuse.

As for trying to fix the issue?

-Waiting till marriage for kids like whites and Asians. BC, Plan B, Condoms, Pullout, all have a 99% effective rate.

-Practicing abstinence

-Black fathers staying in the household.

When you're a certain age you remember the shifts in mentality concerning many things in our culture.

Abortion for the most part was still taboo in the black community. These young girls had those babies....14 in the 10th grade with a baby home. If abortion was such a thing...there wouldn't have been so many 14, 15, 16 year old baby mommas.

Abortion wasn't normalized until the mid to late 90s and only in certain circles.

I never said that WW are having more abortions. I said I wanted to understand your intention. Because it’s obvious you see white women as a model bw should follow, yet we both know that issues are always compounded by race—and that many of the issues that bw are challenged with are occurring in a much lesser degree in a Ww.

The pull out method and condoms do not have a 99% rate of effectiveness.

I actually spoke to why bw are hesitant when it comes to birth control pills. There are now male birth control pills, are more bm like yourself willing to take them, since bw don’t want to deal with the horrible side effects of birth control pills? What about vasectomies?

Practicing abstinence is not something WW and Asian women are doing in high numbers. Ridiculous standpoint anyway because you know damn well that young people are having sex and that won’t stop.

I do agree with your last point, and think that if more bw were sleeping with/ getting pregnant in stable situations they would be less likely to seek abortions. But there’s not much you and I can do to enforce women to do any of the solutions you suggest.

We’ve already done abstinence only education, and studies show that it doesn’t work. There are planned parent hoods and discount clinics where women can get birth control in poorer areas too. Condoms aren’t expensive. These solutions have been there and always get pushed out in these conversations. You just aren’t saying anything new.

And they make sense but they are not what’s happening. So what now?

I think examining why they’re not happening and and resolving the gaps in our society that lead black women to seek abortions in the first place and creating structures and support to these women, mothers, and children once they leave the womb, is probably the one thing that I notice people just don’t want to really talk about or do anything about. yet it’s probably the biggest solution to the issue that would make a difference.

I also notice that there’s emphasis on why women need to do xyz to avoid pregnancy… as if the men they have sex with don’t have a role too. These men are also being just as irresponsible. But when these same women take accountability for being irresponsible with their wombs by getting abortions— people still get angry with those women.

In many cases the men are wanting the women to get the abortions too, because they ain’t trying to be a father either.

All races of women from all different ethnic groups and social classes are having abortions.

None of them made it a "racial issue" or specific to their ethnic group.

Black women are making it a racial issue and no one forced them to do that.

Maxine Waters out here talking about "To hell with the supreme court, black women are getting our abortions"

Attaching your racial identity to abortion is goofy behavior.

Period.

A majority of white people made the decision that infringes upon millions of black women's bodily autonomy but you chastise them for making it a race issue.:gucci:

Black women are 6% of the US population

It affects all women - its not a targeted attack against the "black race"

Actually Hispanics are who we should follow. They struggle like us and still have less abortions than both Blacks and Whites.

It's not a matter of calling black women out, it's a matter of addressing the issue and fixing it.

They have the highest teen pregnancy rate. Many are catholic so they are against abortions. They have a much higher marriage rate. They also have different values from our community in regards to family and marriage—in other words there is more support in their community and more in tact families. But they have not faced the same issues as bw in this country and I don’t want our teen pregnancy rate to increase so no thanks. If anything it’s Asians that have the best model…

nothing you said negates the fact that that the courts decision by white people affects millions of black women's bodily autonomy.

Is more responsible sex not an option at all?

There would be a noticeable drop in abortions if the women getting pregnant were confident that the man would stick by them, but there are women with stable incomes who are in relationships who just flat out don’t want a baby interrupting their life at the time

Are people really incapable of adjusting to these new laws and using birth control, condoms, or morning after pills(emergencies) ? Abortions are dropping by 85% overnight if this happens.
