The situation in the Middle East has calmed down tremendously, but I think there’s something waiting to happen in Asia (NK, China) with the impending trade war. Can a breh make it through four years without any major conflict popping off?

If he was done one thing it's increased benefits for the military. I say do it. Before you join find a vet who has 100% disability so they can get you on game. Trust me don't go into the military without a plan. Also were you apply makes a difference in your pay. So try to join in a place with a higher average rent.

there’s dudes who never deploy I know dudes who have been in longer than me and never came close to seeing an “enemy”
Now In the Marines the only people in fighting are the Marine Special Operations units everyone is either riding on ships country hoping with the Marine Expedionary Units or doing Theater Security Cooperation or Advisor missions at this point with us being the smallest branch we are very adverse to taking casualties

I Joined at 17 deployed 4 times
Picked up SSgt at 6 1/2 years
About to hit my 8th year in

I’m not a dude that does that rah rah join my branch shyt see which one fits you the best and do it but while you’re in you need to make sure you work toward YOUR future with education and certs.

Boot camp was a joke they do all the yelling and shyt to break people mentally it’s like if you ever played a sport it’s easy you know you’ll do a drill and your coach would yell and you’d do it again. Boot camp is easy if you’re mentally strong

I’m in Nebraska. Our rent is about the national average. I would have to apply in a different state for better military pay?

They give you money for housing yes. In NYC for example it's like 3k a month vs somewhere else it might be 1k a month. So it would benefit you to apply in an area that gets you the high housing payment possible

No but my people have and they are now retired eating heavy off of the military. They were in the Army.
