this also proves more than ever all these sales and chart placements based on digital and streams are just made up. Thats why I cant take it serious when they say so and so broke like some 40-50 year old record of most hits. Its all a mirage anyway

I forgot what the beef was about

And wouldn't they still chart him if he still had money to pay, or they took it personal?

From what I remember they briefly completely removed all his music from any Billboard charts. And that was when he was still decently popping, after "Gooba" came out. So they clearly didn't care about his popularity when they made the decision.

As far as money, it's not about paying off Billboard. All Billboard does is track streams, etc. So it would more be a matter of faking/buying streams (similar to payola to radio stations back in the day) as opposed to cutting a check directly to Billboard to boost your numbers.

Was 6ix9ine Cheated? His Beef With Billboard, Explained

The most notable part of the video is 6ix9ine’s statement that the sales of 30,000 units of “Stuck With U” are traceable to just six credit cards. His clear implication is that this was a coordinated effort by Ariana’s side to boost her standing on the chart. He claims to have found this out via an “ongoing investigation,” but provided no details about who was conducting it, or any proof of the results. Complex reached out to 6ix9ine’s label 10K Projects and his publisher Create Music Group for more information, but we have not heard back as of this writing.

So did they stop the fake streams just for him, or for everybody?

And does Billboard do the fake streams themselves, or is it done by like a phone bank(I've seen a video on Twitter before)

That’s how it’s always been. Charts use to be based on payola and how much a label was paying to push a record on TV and radio.

Has nothing to do with snitching or any kind of "street code". Dude was beefing with Roc Nation and Billboard.

That alone would be grounds to black ball him.

Fred.

yeo ever since he went at the Female executive at Roc Nation for the alleged snitching, it’s been all downhill from here...

This album was flop is the first big L he’s taken, and it’s a career ender.. humiliated.. sales/numbers was all he had

Billboard does nothing but report the streams/purchases and compile lists man.

His beef (check the edit/quotes above) with Billboard was accusing them of not investigating the allegation that Ariana Grande supposedly had people buying thousands of copies of her song with Justin Bieber. Which made her #1 instead of his song.

So it wasn't a matter of Billboard faking anything. He was asking why they didn't care she was supposedly faking her numbers.

But if you read the article I linked above, his info wasn't correct anyway. So he jumped out the window and went at Billboard for no reason.

Exactly. People in here asking since when do corporations care about "upholding the code of the streets". They clearly do not. But when you're going at major corporations and CEO types it's career suicide. Dude could've been the biggest snitch in history and nobody at Roc Nation or Billboard would care if #1 he just played ball and #2 actually put out good music.
