I'm still in Qatar, been in country since 2015. I'm still enjoying it. Country has changed a lot since 2015. Culturally it's loosened up a bit but it's no Dubai, but it's a far cry from being a Saudi Arabia in terms of "freedom". From a construction standpoint it's changed so much. Might have to find me a new apartment after World Cup is over next month.

LOL facts Qatar is hella safe.

Right this second I'm in South Africa about to head to Botswana to my boys wedding (he a breh from NY marrying a chick from there but we all live in Qatar).

Once I'm back in Qatar in about a week I'll just continue to update this thread. I have a couple tickets to some matches so I'll post some photos then and while I'm just out in the city.

I stayed in a flat with a Qatari at a conference once. He was a direct descendant of Mohammed, like 40 generations down. He was a cool guy, he and his wife both had PhD's in education so he wasn't about all that submission of women bullshyt, at least not in that area.

The power-holders in the country treat their labor like shyt though.

Was he considered royalty in his country due to being a direct descendent of Prophet Mohammed? Was he well off? Rich even?

Wow Botswana, I am really trying to visit there with my children. I hear the Safari is just as amazing as South Africa however it is a lot safer. Please let us know how your trip goes!
