Before I heard this, I heard from someone else that he told Budden that he didn't feel a need to switch up his sound because he didn't have much material out atm...I didn't like the sound of that.
Production-wise, this is great like Free 6lack was. But, as far as lyrics and skits go its clear this one's more focused on one relationship in particular versus various experiences from different girls. The result of this is that all the jewels in his last project as far as observations about female behavior and relationship problems are pretty much absent and the emphasis here is on choruses and more fluid song structures. Even so, 6lack is one of the few acts I like these days so even if this comes off somewhat mediocre, I do like a few of the tracks here.
