Honestly, I'm surprised they've sold that many tickets. I don't think NJPW will ever breakthrough in the US like they want to. A place like Dallas is random af for a Japanese rasslin company.

Looks like there's a little over 1,000 tickets left for the show. I believe they're configuring the AAC for 7500, so doing around 6500 in a new market isn't necessarily BAD. They probably should've just booked a smaller venue in Dallas and gotten a 5000-6000 seat sellout for appearances though.

Running the AAC was dumb, yes, especially considering that they could have run either the College Park Center or the Schollmaier Center (both ~7000 seat college basketball arenas) in the same area and probably gotten a proper sellout. I don't know if this is just the usual NJPW American promotional stupidity or them just getting gassed off of the MSG sellout, but somebody screwed up.

They'll probably end up getting somewhere between 6700 and 7000, which would look great in a smaller arena, but will probably look slightly less than impressive in the AAC.

Not so random when you think of the behind the scenes stuff. The American Airlines Center is operated jointly by the Mavs and Stars, as we all know Mark Cuban owns AXS network. By putting them in Dallas, they get to run a live special on AXS for American viewers.

I also think that ONCE AGAIN promotion for this show has been fukking abysmal. It's a huge fukking show with big ass matches and there has been no build up or hype behind it. No interviews, no viral campaign, no big push on social media...it's to be honest.

This is the Cow Palace show all over again. That time they didn't take advantage of having The Elite guys and this time they didn't take advantage of the impressive card they put together.

The difference between NJPW's event promotion and AEW's event promotion is absolutely insane.
