Holy shyt that KENTA heel turn/Shibata return.

You could almost watch the swagger slowly return to KENTA's body after he hit Ishii with the Busaiku knee. I have no idea if this will actually lead to a match given Shibata's issues, but that's a huge, huge deal if it does happen at one of the WrestleKingdom shows. Judging from this angle, there would be massive heat on this beyond just Shibata coming back.

Great night in general for angles/character moments.

I still need to watch the main event, but that gif is amazing. Insane dikkhead energy from both KENTA and Jay White there. If we're using a Jay White/Bullet Club gif as the nWg signature, THIS needs to be the one.

Got a good chuckle out of this run-in. No promo, no brief pause to immediately cut or whip pan to a look of betrayal upon Shibata's face, didn't even bother to ask why first. Just jumped in the ring and proceeded to clean this nikka up.

Almost as if all the vouching he did for his friend before the tournament (confident that he wasn't too ), poker-facing his embarrassment on guest commentary as he watched that same friend underwhelm crowd after crowd, culminating with this BC fukkshyt, finally pushed Shibata to his breaking point. The way he ran in... I get the feeling he was gonna smack KENTA at some point within the next few days, whether he joined bullet club or not.

Saw the last 10-12 minutes of the final and it was dope. Budokan was losing it's collective shyt at every twist and turn and both White and Ibushi played their roles perfectly.

Dave said the KENTA turn was the best angle of the past 30 years Also said there's no plans at the moment for Shibata to wrestle. They really stayed away from his head during everything and I'd say he does similar spots in the dojo so I'm not too confident in a dome match Imagine Shibata/Shingo though

I mean yeah, I could see Shibata doing that angle just to put over the KENTA turn, but man that was a perfect segment for his return.

For what it’s worth..... by the time I started watching NJPW. Shibata was already gone and no where to be found.

I’ve only seen highlights or maybe a match or few that some of y’all have put me on to.

Without even googling I don’t even know how he got injured. I just know he was and heard y’all say it was severe and career ending. Like it was bad.

That’s why I was originally asking can be actually come back.

I know breh made the DB connection with me but being that I’m kinda uniformed with the severity. I didn’t know whether his injury indeed is like a DB situation or a Austin/Edge like situation.
