Frank Martin needs to have a more varied offense

He somehow just wants to use his quickness and fast hands and thinks that will carry him to wins

Derrick gotta shake him up and get him used to fighting on the inside. He'll jump in for a minute but the outside is like a cozy safe space

Watched this with the sound off and wasn’t really counting rounds but still surprised people thought it was a toss up
Felt like Martin was blocking a lot of dudes shots early on and landed the more effective punches.

Fanboyish? Nah not really, I had it a draw going into the rounds he swept. None of the rounds beforehand were close? You can win with effective counter punching. Harutyunyan wasn't landing clean like that.

The only problem with this statement is his counterpunching wasn't as effective as you're thinking. And while I thought his footwork looked good, it wasn't very effective either. When he would do that Pacquiao turn to switch angles, a lot of times Harutuyunuan was right in his face or just enough out of range to hit him and not get hit.

Frank edged it out but shoutout to his opponent he aint no bum and he came to fight.

He was a Bronze medalist Olympian with nearly 300 fights as an amateur and he had an awkward/unorthodox style that’s difficult to time and counter.

Good fight, could have gone either way imo, it was in the USA so Martin won, if it’s in Germany Harutyunyan would have won, wouldn’t mind a rematch either but it’s not likely.

Martin is your consummate boxer-puncher with a textbook technique and decent but not very good defense. Imo this won’t cut it at the top level.

He’s been confronting Keyshawn Davis, it would be an inteiguing fight but I don’t like Martin’s chances there.
