I disagree, this is hoops, not football. You gotta be hitting for 20+ for me to consider it a blowout, 10-20 is a comfortable win, and anything under 10 was likely a close or mostly competitive game

Funny to me is when I hear commentators calling teams “elite” defensively then I watch those same teams give up 120 points like it’s nothing. “Elite” defense doesn’t exist anymore due to way the game is officiated and everyone being 3-pointer crazy.


I’m sorry, but you don’t see anyone label boxers who stay getting knocked on their asses as great defensive fighters. I’m a KD/GS fan and even they get blown the fukk out at times. With the squad they have, that shyt is pathetic and should never happen.

Maybe it's just effective offenses making the defense look weak

Maybe my optical lenses are antiquated but when I think of elite defense the most recent I can go back is those Lebron Miami teams that made the perimeter a no-fly zone, those KG-Rondo Celtic teams that suffocated ball movement and held teams to 80-85 pts., those Lakers with Gasol & Bynum in the post making every shot difficult and gobbling up rebounds.

Nowadays I still see certain defensive “guys” but teams in general are way too easy to score on. It’s hard for me to tell what’s elite defense when everybody is getting damn near 150 dropped on their heads.

Outside of the first round the entire playoffs has been like this. It might have something to do with the 3 point line with so many being taken if one team his hitting them at a decent clip and the other team is going cold it could get ugly real quick and the trailing team throws in the towel.
