Maybe but it would still seem weird for an Irish person or a Italian to rep Greek culture. Maybe as a casual remark in regards to what the "white race has accomplished" but when it comes down to the details I can't see it happening that often.
bill o'reilly and ron paul consider themselves American first and foremost. They consider that their identity like most non-ethnic whites in the US.
well you are seeing it here in this article, a white person just randomly claiming that the magna carta, socrates and louis the XIV are his ancestors and his heritage
and you need to get around more, overall irish and italian people dont really exist in any significant way outside of the big cities, what you see in NYC with italians and irish and other white ethnic groups is an aberration, its not normal
and of course ron paul and oreilly consider themselves american first thats my point, but both of them are the type that would give you a speech about the magna carta and its history and impact on american culture, but the magna carta was a british document and they are german and irish
if you put it in context of european history, the notion of a german and an irish lauding the magna cart is obtuse
im not even saying its a bad thing, i think its a good thing, like ive said in the immigration debates, if at the end of the day people dont call themselves american then the us will fall apart
