Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. says a $70 million Lotto Max ticket that had gone unclaimed for a year has not been physically validated and is now expired.

The ticket, drawn on June 28, 2022, was purchased at a lottery retailer in Scarborough. Players have one year to claim their prize.

As the deadline of 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 passed, a physical $70 million winning ticket was not validated at an OLG terminal, the company said in a news release on Thursday morning.

If an attempt is made to validate the lottery ticket past the one-year expiry date, the OLG said the lottery terminal message to the customer will advise that the ticket has expired.

The OLG had launched an awareness campaign about the unclaimed jackpot ticket from that draw to jog the ticket owner’s memory. The OLG said it received more than 1,100 calls from people claiming to have lost their winning ticket.

The OLG said due to the high volume of lost ticket claims, a dedicated team of lottery investigators “need to take the time necessary to review all of the potential claims made before the expiry deadline.”

It said after the lengthy process is complete, the OLG will provide a further update on the prize.

If the $70 million Lotto Max ticket remains unclaimed, the prize money will be returned to players through future bonus games or promotions.

The OLG said the winning numbers for the June 28, 2022, Lotto Max draw are 8, 19, 22, 41, 42, 46, 47 Bonus 10.

What you dont know cant hurt you:mjlol:

And if they dont know they won by now, they probably wont magically figure it out one day.

Yeah, I hope they don't know where the ticket is..But imagine if they have to move out of their house and they're packing up and they find it behind some dresser or something? I hope they don't look up the numbers.

So my grandmother lives with one of her sons children and had a guy that lived in her basement. My aunt and uncle had a scheme to renovate her house, sell it and use the money to buy a house and have her move in with them. Apparently the guy in the basement had a medical episode and one of the children found him unconscious in the basement and he was sent to the hospital. While he was in the hospital, they thought he wasn't going to make it so they threw all of his shyt out while renovating. He ended up getting better and my grand aunt took him in because she felt bad that he didn't have a place to stay anymore. Apparently dude had a whole leap of unchecked lottery tickets that got bushed when they thought dude was going to die. It's not a for sure thing but they all live in Scarborough and that's were the ticket was bought so :patrice:

I think to claim it all you have to tell them was which store it was bought on and what you bought with it. However, unsure if the dude would remember that in the state he was in

Either the person is dead, old age and forgot that they even bought a ticket, or simply bought it and threw it away thinking they were never gonna win anyway

Nah you dont. Ive had alot of tickets i bought I never checked, and just throw them out as trash later. What would make you check is hearing somebody in your area won. Not sure how they didnt hear about it at the time.
