Basically, let's say half or more of the public school system will likely be gone. There are amendments in there to give money to people sending kids to private schools. There are also amendments to significantly shift money from state and low income to the higher 1%.

Chicago Public Schools closing and consolidation plan would affect thousands of students
Closing those schools in Englewood shows that they are in stage 3 of the gentrification process. Handing out Section 8 vouchers in excess of $2,000.00 to live in Country Club Hills (& other neighborhoods equivalent) had to be step 2.5. Raising the property taxes was step 2. Selling lots for $1.00 was step 1 (to give the impression that the goal was to empower us to take back our communities, but the eligibility requirements to purchase a lot for $1.00 rendered the bulk of the communities ineligible. How do you require the impoverished of Englewood to be debt free with the city to purchase a $1.00 lot when they can’t even find jobs to escape poverty?) The goal is to regain the prime real estate in the city. They will improve the communities which will cause a dramatic increase in property value which will raise the cost of living in the communities and force Englewood residents out because they won’t be able to afford it. Open businesses! Get better jobs so that you can keep, sustain and SAVE THOSE COMMUNITIES!! A few years back I was begging my mother to move out of Englewood because there were boys running through her yard with guns. Now, I will put all of my resources into making sure that she stays and people like her and I will help them. Go and help your families who live in Englewood. Equip them with the resources to fight back. Don’t take the easy way out and move away. Our history is there! Our memories are there! Save our Englewood!
