Yup. That’s the only way it could’ve ended. All character shyt. Whomever laid that match out did a really good job

Another thing about the match: the heat they've had in the last two matches kinda wasn't there for them this time around. By the end it just seemed as if the crowd was burned out on the match, and maybe even the feud as a whole despite them popping for the big spots.
They weren't even trying to cheer on Gargano as he was trying to get up, really. I think they really might have tried to do too much with this feud and done Gargano a real disservice by making him look like a moron who doesn't learn from his mistakes (as opposed to Ciampa being super crafty and outwitting Gargano to get one over on him). Feud should've ended in April, and it'll be interesting to see what happens to Gargano going forward (pretty sure Ciampa will be fine; his heat seems largely bulletproof).

So whats the endgame of this feud? Johnny fitting to go full Eddie Edwards and kidnap Ciampa's moms or something? Or he's going out like one of Raven's flunkies

The feud should have ended after the first match and they shouldn't have had any interaction again until both were on the main roster or something. The ending to the first match was a blow off finish, the end of a months long Gargano arc that should have then propelled him to win the NXT Championship and Ciampa probably getting a call up.
They're clearly trying to make this a Sami/KO thing, so maybe in 12 years they'll get to do some stuff on their own for a bit.

at thinking their done with Gargano vs Ciampa. Ciampa would have got a fluke win on Black if he didn't get hurt, they probably would have been captians for War Games against eeach other, & then the Rumble Takeover would have been the blow off with Gargano finally winning. Wouldn't be shocked if they still do that but that Black injury fukked their booking here becuase Ciampa losing the belt about 3 weeks after winning it would have killed him.
