That was an incredibly thoughtful and engaging monologue. Dave made some great observations and parallels, and he did a better job of putting things in perspective than even some of the experts and social commentators are capable of.
His great grandfather was born a slave :wow:

Think about that.....Dave Chapelle isn't even 50 years old yet, but he had a great grandfather that was a slave.

My great great grandfather was a slave, my grandmother was able to tell us how our family's last name was thought of after my great great grandfather was emancipated, and she got the story directly from him. My parents were born when segregation was still legal; my sisters, some of my cousins and I are literally the first ones in our family to be born outside of a time where oppressing black people is still legal ( but even now, laws are enacted, twisted, and contorted or order to mainly terrorize black people) and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can say such a thing. All of these things are recent and relevant, and they will continue to be relevant until this country is fixed somehow.
