I can fukk with a lot of albums called modern-day classic albums like Food and Liquor, The Cool, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Good Kid Maad City, Life is Good, but the documentary ?? I decided to check some "old" "so-called classic albums" and damn, The Documentary is overrated as hell.

I really don't hear it that much anywhere else but I went back and listen to the Documentary again because I thought it was one of the best albums of 05 but I went back to see what all the fuss was about again.
After almost every song full of name drops..and borrowed flows...the only thing I could sum up was the fact that this album is so overrated on this board because of the beat selection(which was some of the best for a album in a longgggggg time)...Amazing beats with average lyrics..Game was real repeatitive on this album...if it isn't about the westcoast then it's a name drop of an artist or an album...then if it aint about that it's more gunplay or a nba player or team again with the name dropping...and every once n awhile he'll throw in something about his personal life.

I don't see how a album with
Lyrics:c-
Production:A
guest spots:A
overrall:B-
can be a classic...

For me Game had very little to do with me actually likeing this album but more so the production and the songs where he had guest apperences on with the exception of: "Like Father,Like Son"/"Put you on the game"...and basically those were just recycled flows and he had zero creatitivy on the album..except for the oversaturated name dropping other then that none.

lyrically it is best album and beat wise also.

eayh the production is great but the lyrics are trash, it's not acceptable for a "good album"

I guess that's why the album wasn't praised or critically acclaimed when it came out :ehh:
