Its the same engine, they probably reused some assets and textures. Like the fur you mentioned. It's the same fur in sunset. And it's physics based, and it's customizable.

No one would look at both and claim one looks "a lot" better.

And yes sunset is one of the best looking titles on X1. Second only to Ryse and Forza..

They don't do bulshots. Which is why I always go to them when i get screenshots.

They have HD video up to if you wanna check it out but the file sizes are huge.

I played both games tho. Sunset does not at any point looks like that screenshot. Ratchet does not look like that either, but it's a much better looking game than Sunset
