And if so how were they perceived?
now days we like Larry a cold white boy but did he have any black fans outside of Boston?

I don't know about anywhere else. But in Pittsburgh there was a sizable amount of nikkas wearing Celtics Starter Jackets.

Part of it is because there is no pro basketball in Pittsburgh. So nikkas tended to gravitate to either the hot team at the time or whose colors were cold as fukk. Me personally I stanned the Sixers cause they were at least PA.

But yeah. Lots of nikkas thought Bird was a white nikka

There was a collective black disdain for anything Celtics. nikkas respected him...but dsmn sure didn't fukk with him.

This was a generation of blacks who were great race men....not like these new blacks.

I became a Laker fan in 84' off that dynamic alone which came off the heels of the smack of enlightenment to my face when dear old dad hit me for rooting for Gerry c00ney over Holmes. :old: :blessed:

You was a sellout tomm mccan c00n.
If you even thought about praising bird instead of magic and crew.

Bird was Darth Vader and over ric flair, as greatest televised VILLAIN on tv.

Breh please tell me you were still in grade school because that right there is sinful...There was not a single black man, woman or child in south side Queens not riding hard for Holmes...

I still remember my pops shadowboxing to the fight and passionately yelling whoop that white ass at the television like Rocky Balboa was doing for Tommy Gun in Rocky V...

I was in grade school. I didn't understand the dynamics at play during that time because I only rooted for c00ney because Hilmes beat Ali and was a anti Christ to me since Ali was basically next to god back in the day. That niqqas photo was in every black barber shop next to the barbers chart. :heh:
