As in a co triller that works for all or do I have to get a different controller for each?

not without an adapter. most of the 3rd party pc controllers will work on switch natively, but to use on xbox and/or ps, you'll need an adapter for each system.
my go-to is the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro. i have the mayflash magic x to use it on my xbox series x, and the mayflash magic s ultimate to use on ps5 (works for all ps4 games, but only on some ps5 games, basically anything that uses the ps5 haptics is SOL).
