exactly
if saying 8mile had a bigger impact than illmatic is "trolling" it should be VERY EASY for anyone here to convince us why.. but no one has/cant
instead of debating the topic they just call you a troll because they cant support their argument

How is Illmatic not influential? It's arguably the most influential album of All-Time. It inspired Nas' contemporaries like Jay Z, Mobb Deep and Tupac as well as artists of today from all over the country such as The Game, Kendrick, Lupe Fiasco. Elzhi a Detroit nig*a loved Illmatic so much he made his own Elmatic. It was one of the albums that led to the renaissance of hip hop in NYC during the 90s, it led to the decline of alternative hip hop. Look at the way guys most were rhyming pre-Illmatic.The album has perfect to nearly perfect reviews by most critics, it's been called the best album ever and is an undisputed classic. The album is legendary no what you trolls have to say.
Within Hip Hop it Illmatic had impact on the way dudes rapped and was part of the albums that brough NY back
Within pop culture 8 Mile made battle rapping become mainstream..which wasnt necessairly a good thing but had impact.
Never, ever gets enough respect or love. lol @ clowns thinking nobody rapped like nas before nas. Treach was ridiculous with it. If anything, nas was studying Treach.nikkaz outside of NY dont give a fukc that illmatic with its 4 or 5 copies sold "brought NY back"... when in actuality it was RTD... also check how Rakim, KGR, BDK, and Treach were rapping in 1990 and try to act like illmatic influenced them![]()

And RTD influenced IWW....but of course Biggie himself said he wanted to make "Illmatic on steroids" with that first joint
Illmatic steadily built its re[ outside of NY over the course of the 2 years after release which is why by the time he got to the second album he was major and anticipated. Now you might say that be because of one single assisted by L Boogie. But it takes more than a single for that to happen and be number 1 on the charts for 3 weeks like IWW was in July 96
Even had Lesanne Crooks calling him the alledged ring leader and Waslalu inspired to pick up the mic![]()
i already posted ALL the mentions of nasir bin olu dara by one Lesane Crooks that have been captured on camera or record.... none were favorable towards naS. Also as I have repeatedly stated in regards to Lu and niccaz my age in Chicago we did not fukc with illmatic.... didnt give two shyts. IWW was nice though. The alleged ring leader has nothing to do with rap skills. naS seen too many movies.
Treach influnced a tounge twisting flow with New York MCs and to a larger aspect Eminem, though I think even he was maybe a little influenced by Kane as Nas was G Rap and Ra. But after 94 it felt like cats were going back to a more scientific style of rhyming following Illmatic. To shoot the fair one that's not to say people like Pharoah Monch werent doing it first, but there's a reason people highlight Nas too cause he had definetly caught a few ears out there when he tried.
Because they prefer to ride his nuts. Pretty simple.
