I haven't watched TNA in a while (Dixie's budget shenanigans and the loss of so many wrestlers just killed any enthusiasm I could muster) but I am working from home today so I figured I record it and watch it while "working".
I wish I hadn't. This company is a fukking mess.
The GFW Invasion angle has so much potential: Jeff's motivation is actually valid and understandable but his roster of wrestlers is just basic as fukk which makes it hard to care.
Why bother letting Kenny King drop diggity dope rhymes for 5 minutes talking about how he is a new man just to job him out Bram Turner? And the way they had Bram just come down and whoop Kenny's ass and then stroll right out without saying a word was terrible.
Having The Wolves lose to two of the most generic looking wrestlers to ever wear tights was dumb.
On the positive tip: it was cool seeing The Beautiful People reforming.
What happened to this company? Dixie needs to just merge with Jeff's company and start running everything as GFW because the stink on the TNA name is just too much to ever overcome.

The funny thing is that they think they're killing it. After every set of tapings, Dixie, Lagana, Gaburick, etc talk about how they had a tremendous set of tapings and nobody works harder.
Also, Jeff's roster sucks. I agree that his reasoning could have made this a very intriguing angle. But the execution has been horrible and nobody cares about the participants. TNA originals should be stepping up. Magnus should be with GWF.
And Orlando does it no favors. Just consistently horrible and puts nothing over.
To me, merging wouldn't help. Still the same decision makers in place.

I think Jarrett in charge with the TNA remaining roster mixed in with some of the dudes in GWF could work. Jarrett is capable of creating a good product when he doesn't insist on making himself the main focus of it. Plus I think the move out of Universal could help. Those audiences are made up of way too many people looking for a place to rest their feet that has air conditioning and who don't give a damn about wrestling.
I don't know...GFW isn't really that promising to me.
I like that he's trying to form relationships with other organizations and scouting indy talent, but there's already a lot of the same hokeyness in his strategy. Same ring, same baseball events, a lot of rehashed TNA talent. Actually linking up with TNA. In a lot of ways, it already is re-branded TNA.
