Facts.

“Overtime” is nothing but a scam.

You want more money they get a job with a higher base pay than you’re already on.

You don’t get back time.
fukking right. I stopped that overtime shyt years ago. We have to grind for scrum anyway so I'll be damned if I give MORE of my time. :camby:

The older I get, the more I realize how valuable my time is. I won't waste that shyt for no one but me.

I never have done it, always started at 7, now sometimes earlier especially when I’m on a meeting with people overseas in Europe.

only times I’m on past 5 is if I’m working more than 8 hours that day or we have a meeting with people in Asia.

9 to 5 is for the kids. Kids usually gotta be at school by 8a.m. at the latest.

Honestly 40 hours a week is BUMMY unless you can break it down to 4 10s.

Don't. I refuse to work a job that doesn't allow for 3x12, it's partially why I went into nursing. People need to start protesting that bullshyt.

3 12s sound good as hell. I'd be traveling to a different city every other weekend. Leaving work on a Thursday afternoon, in New Orleans that same night:banderas:

I work an 8-6 mon-thurs & 8-12 fri

So basically can’t do anything until Friday but I’m basically free all day.

It’s a blessing a curse.

Best solution is obviously hybrid + flexible hours with some core office hours for when you need face time.

I worked a 2-10 shift one summer. Great for getting errands done in the morning, but you basically miss out on "life" because that's the window everyone is doing things outside of work or school.
That was basically my shift for years and you’re exactly right. It’s only good because you can get stuff done before work. It’s bad because driving home at 11pm could suck depending on what’s happening. Charlotte loved to start these rolling construction zones at night(that’s what I call them) and will have you caught in traffic for way longer than you want. It’s fine when traffic is clear and you’re blasting music that you like.

Cry me a river. Did 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM every day my ship was out to sea, and being on an amphib, it stayed out all the time. One calendar year, we were in port 52 fukking days.

My job is pretty flexible with my starting time. Most days I work from home, so if I want to get started at 7 and finish at 3 I can. Same for when I need to go into the office as well. I normally do 8:30 to 5 for both because working from home is a breeze and I stay pretty close to my job and I don't have to worry about traffic.

same here. my job is flexible and I work from the crib. all I gotta do is check my calendar and make sure I can attend wahtever meetings, and I'm pretty much good. I don't have set start/stop times like that. sometimes I start at 7am, sometimes 9. depends on how I'm feeling.

I just bought the mouse wiggler from Amazon. For those of you who need to look busy while you work from home, when you really just napping and doing your thing.
