That's why every era after The Attitude Era is forgettable. Ruthless Aggression was good, but it still missed larger than life characters that pulled in all kinds of viewers.

Enzo & Cass are prob the best and most fleshed out characters since AE. They get over without trying too hard cuz they just work and most importantly they make sense. Like you got The Club being ageist American fake doctors from Japan, Cesaro a hitman sponsored by Nike, Sami a newspaper boy?? Then those with actual gimmicks like Vaudes, Sheamus, Ambrose, and even Bray they don't go all the way with it, its a watered down half-assed version of what the gimmick could be at its full potential. Nothing makes sense and nothing hits like it should
