Hopefully we can progress to the point where our accomplishments can supercede our failures and black success is considered "normal" to the point where articles like these aren't necessary.

Articles like this will always be needed as long as we're in a society that's built on a system of white supremacy. There's a reason there's so many negative articles about our race despite our accomplishments. Me and my girl went to Jamaica to visit my family and she was shocked at how different the news was down there. No c00ning. No white people. Not even in the majority of the commercials.

If we replicated JPI's analysis by downloading enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics' Integrated Post‐Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS), we would find a 108.5 percent jump in black male college enrollment from 2001 to 2011. The raw numbers show that enrollment of black males increased from 693,044 in 2001 to 1,445,194 in 2011.
