There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with sugar. There are a lot of misconceptions about it. Sugars (carbohydrates) are an important physiological building block. The body simply doesn't work properly without the proper concentrations. Here is the problem though...like you said processed sugar such as HFCS are synthetic and unnatural. It's almost like a foreign substance, a toxin, because our bodies don't know or don't have the tools to break it down. So it gets stored in fat tissue. Only other thing I'd say is sugar doesn't rot teeth. Bacteria that feed off of sugar and produce acids as byproducts rot teeth...so brush your teeth. Long story short, natural sugars in moderation are no more unhealthy than say salt. Too much of anything is bad.
when i say sugar, i really mean processed sugar which is is almost everything you buy in the supermarket.
