90s kids what was it like transitioning from 2-d to 3-d games?

I went from sonic 3 to Mario 64 like

I remember telling my older brother in amazement that I can go "anywhere" lol

It was cool to play crash badicoot...but then the n64 came out and the playability of the 3d games on that system blew ps1 games out the water...then it got perfected by dreamcast/ps2/xbox gen...we will prob never see another jump like that for a long long time....

Just talking about these old games made me think about the OG Metroid for some reason. That game needs to be remade and NOT in 3D. Will there ever be a game like that again

They did remake the og metroid for gba.

first 3d game was crash bandicoot

remember feeling like it was sluggish but the game was beautiful to me

didnt really appreciate 3d graphics until the first Gran Turismo dropped along with Tekken 3 and Goldeneye
