today's mainstream rap goes hand-in-hand with early '80s rap party tracks. and the party rappers back then were more skilled than the ones now. so I don't see how any era can be dated in comparison to a lot of whats going on these days.
dead-ass. I was listening to an early '80s mix on the radio earlier, and was switching back-n-forth between that and the mix on the current radio channel. they went hand-in-hand. chit fits like a glove if you can relate to both eras. if not, then that's the only obstacle.
the biggie mixes on the other channels didn't fit in well with what I had going on. as it relates to the thread - that's my '90s comment.
