they blackballing h-town or something?

:russ:

Man, you ride for H-Town hard as all hell... you would think these nikkas were really runnin' the game at one point.

No dis, it's just funny. Why would H-Town be blackballed from MTV just cause they didn't happen to play one of their 3 hit singles? :deadrose:

only 3 hit singles tho?

stop it.

they were like the 3rd most popular male group of their era. yet I see videos from groups that weren't even ranked.

I was riding for other artists as well in here. I just state the obvious.

im just putting my voice to use. im clearly one of the reasons why they stepped up their throwbacks. you know some of those programmers post here. now theyre digging so deep in the crates that half of their playlist for these marathons consist of chit that never aired on mtv back in the day. they went downstairs and raided BET's library.

remember they was frontin on onyx. now theyre playing multiple onyx videos on there.

respect my authority.:king:

Off the top of my head I can say

Boyz 2 Men
Jodeci
Tony! Toni! Tone
Blackstreet
Mint Condition
Shai

Were all bigger than H-Town. Them nikkas only had 1 hit that I remember which is Knockin Boots.

blackstreet was moreso the next era, imo.

h-town was by far bigger than shai.

mint condition & tony tone were moreso bands. that's why they never come to mind when I speak on matters like these. they were more popular than mint condition tho - a group that I made relevant on these boards.

they had way more than 1 hit. lol. they just don't get played as time goes on because they had a chitty record deal. only reason knockin boots still gets played is because it was a ridiculously big record.

I disagree. Record sales will show Shai was bigger than H-Town.

record sales don't show much. was Ludacris bigger than young jeezy?

I don't even know what the sales were. I just know shai had better promotion but h-town was more popular. shai wasn't even as popular as silk. all these groups were on the same tour at their peak by the way. the results of that says it all.

plus shai only had 1 hot album.

h-town had 2 classics and a quality 3rd album

shai had 1 classic and then they fell off the map.

and h-town was bigger than shai when shai dropped their classic. I don't know what the numbers were. its about the impact.
