Troy easily.

  • The haunting filter from that sample
  • The horns
  • CL allowing Pete rock to make his beats fakkit as you do
I always felt 93 was the most overrated and obnoxious songs of all time. I hated the song then and now because it's the"real hip hop" starter song for baggy Enyce wearing cacs :scust:

TROY

nobody gave a fukk about that other overrated ass song where I lived when it came out

93' til being a factor has to be the most revisionist history shyt ever

I forgot that song existed until some OK PLAYER cacs were foaming at the mouth about it online in the early 2000s

now a whole generation thinks some generic song from 1993 was loved like de la's breakadawn or jeru's come clean

"4 better or 4 worse" by the pharcyde is 100x better and nobody even talks about it

'93 mass appeal came from the production..it's another In Da Club.

TROY's lyrics have much more depth and meaning. It's damn near a masterpiece.

93 is cool just off the beat

Tough man.

Both hit the same emotion for me. TROY is associated with my youth more so probably that.

TROY easily. That song is like a pillar in Hip Hop, a defining song of The Golden Age. The artform in it's purest forum:ohlawd:

If you had to play a hip hop song that represented the genre to someone who has never heard it before, TROY would be up there as one to pick.

93 did not have that mass reach like folks from Cali would lead you to believe.
