Didn’t seem like he was being arrogant or dismissive in this situation. She asked for his name and badge number twice and he gave it to her twice. He also explained what the citation was for twice and asked her THREE TIMES to sign the ticket and told her THREE times what the punishment was. He asked her DIRECTLY was she going to sign and she directly said “No”. Only after she gave him a direct No did he move to arrest her. And even in arrest he asked her several times to put her hands behind her back.


This isn’t a case of black women vs black men this is a case of when “Keeping It Real Goes Wrong”. She chose the wrong time, place, and moment to defy someone who clearly made it known what consequences she was facing. Honestly, I don’t know how much more of an idiot this woman could have presented herself as. I was taught growing up that when the police tell you to do something, just do it. And that trying to get into a physical altercation with police will NEVER end well for you, no matter if you're trying to fight them or trying to resist arrest.

If the police came up and told me to sign a citation cause it's against the law to be in this park after dark, id rather just sign it and then fight it in court as opposed to refusing to sign it and him looking at it as me not complying and having to spend a night in jail.

And then if he decides to arrest me over some bs anyway, imma just go along peaceably and ask for my phone call when we get there and call my people to come get me. I'm not about to fight with no police.

Wrong. You guys need to stop listening to idiots on youtube. She didnt have to sign the ticket as he clearly explained but if she didnt he can and did arrest her and take her jail. End of story. Police also DO NOT have to explain anything to you either BEFORE arresting you... this is another youtube talking point that gets folks jacked up in reality. They are allowed to arrest and detain you and then explain everything afterwards. Same thing with reading you your rights. They don't have to do it right away at the time of the arrest.
