Women saw the door to economic opportunity and sexual freedom opened.

Men were somewhat liberated from the burden of total responsibility and commitment - not just commitment to the family, but commitment to work/company because of the load they had to carry domestically.

Maybe the easy answer to all of this is that people want to have their cake and eat it too.

Women gained some freedoms but lost the perks of being taken care of and courted (to some degree).
Men gained some freedoms but lost the perks of stability and continuity (to some degree)

Well said.

Notice how it wasn't really a major issue until the pimps and other middlemen got cut out of the deal. I remember when Backpage got shut down the coli REJOICED and nikkas were fantasizing about how all the hoes would be forced back to the Blade selling p*ssy at cut rates and having to rely on P's for protection. When that didn't happen because hoes pivoted to independent internet content all of a sudden OnlyFans was the worst thing to happen to the human race.

The ability to control what they do, with who and for how much (and keep close to 100% of the profits to themselves) is what pisses nikkas off if we're being honest.

Nah, its about your nieces and daughters down the line, thinking that it is OK selling their p*ssy and ass on Onlyfans, calling them "liberated". Imagine a whole society thinking it is OK for all young women to sell ass and not use their brains?

The impact of the sex positivity movement of the 2010s is gonna be a discussion in the next 10-15 years. There are conversations being had already about the mistakes made there. Very slowly but it's happening.

Well, if you look at feminism from the time frame you're referencing, the mainstream faction was very Anti sex work, very Anti catering to the male gaze. It was inherently exploitative to them and they were against it, full stop. They even joined up with republicans to push legislation to damper the influence of and access to porn. Contrary to popular belief mainstream feminism from then would NOT be here for today's mainstreaming and glamorization of sex work.

As far a BW are concerned, Black women were always wishy washy regarding feminism and even bell hooks lamented how BW were firmly in the race first mindset as opposed to woman first or both black and woman equally. Tbh, in a lot of way feminism had to catch up to our foremothers. They were already working outside the home out of necessity and protesting racist treatment in a myriad of ways. I think the 2010s is probably the most I've seen a huge collective of BW embrace feminism as a concept(or in some cases womanism).

Hope it catches on. Selling sex is basically making America into a 3rd world Banana Republic where crime and poverty are rampant.

Weak nikka babble.

Yes, I work hard for everything. But I wouldn't have it any other way. That's what being a man is about.

The quote in the OP is merely pointing out the fact that women claimed to want equality with men, and access to men only spaces and fields.

They have that now, they have what they claimed to want, but somehow still they continue to make their way back to being prostitutes and sex workers.

Men used to put women on the corner. Now they put themselves on the corner. It's ironic.

they took control of the means of production. :ehh:
